Providing Quality Powders around the Globe

Premix Bronze Powders

Press-Ready Premix Bronze Powders is a category of products where experience and technological know-how are at a premium. Makin Metal Powders has pioneered the use of such powders over many years and our ability to meet customer-specific requirements is paramount in providing tailored, cost-effective solutions.

We manufacture Premixes on site here in Rochdale and are a supplier in large quantities into a wide range of markets and applications around the world.

Technical Description

Press-Ready Premix Bronze Powders are manufactured by blending an array of “pre-blends” in our modern, purpose-built facilities. Properties can be engineered as desired by careful selection of pre-blends, processes and chemical composition allowing us to offer tailored solutions for our customers.

Our range of premixes includes Low and High Growth (positive Dimensional Change), Low and High Shrinkage (negative Dimensional Change) and “Nominally No Dimensional Change” over a range of sintering temperatures and atmospheres.

Other properties that may be specified include Green Strength, Sintered Strength and Apparent Density and the appropriate combination of properties and characteristics may be designed to meet the most demanding of needs. Please refer to the table to see the basic characterisation described, although premixes can easily be designed/selected on the basis of other properties.

Other features of our our premixes are:

  • Very low Pb levels that we can guarantee
  • Good reproducibility batch after batch
  • Availability in a variety of UN-approved packaging options including 25kg sacks, steel drums (50-100kg) and Big Bags (250, 500, 1000kg).

Usage & Application

Press-Ready Premix Bronze Powders are used in diverse applications, markets and technologies by virtue of the wide range of physical/mechanical properties offered. Typical uses include pressed and sintered components, bearings and bushings, as well as a number of niche applications.
